1988 4Runner V6 master cylinder & Booster
SF Bay Area, but would ship if price were right.
Have a pair of SW13B calipers and looking to do the bigger brake swap on my 87 4runner, but need the larger booster and MC from a 1988 4runner V6 with the larger brakes.
Will source pads and rotors new most likely.
Please let me know if you have these parts (or one or the other) and are interested in letting go of them.
Thanks
Phil

Don't have either item for you, but I was not even aware that either of these were any different in '88 for the 4cyl versus V6, but I looked it up and indeed they are. Acutally, let me edit that statement, I did know that the brake calipers were larger bore on the V6, I guess I was not aware that this change was on the 88's. My 22re stock master is 13/16", the V6 apparently is 15/16". Interesting, I never knew there was a size between the 1" and the 13/16".
What is different about the booster? Is it larger or dual diaphragm?

Thanks for NOTHING, Corey
I started this thread about the swap, after reading Corax's thread.
Sounds like there is a lot of overlap with parts for the V6 88-89 4Runners, and pickups with V6. Basically, the V6 trucks and 4runners came with larger brakes - 4 piston instead of 2 piston calipers. With that came a dual diaphragm booster and larger bore MC.
Now, I could get a dual diaphragm booster from a 2nd gen 4Runner with V6, but it would rub against the steering column in my 1st gen 4Runner because it's a larger circumference. SO, I'm looking for the booster (same circumference as the single diaphragm I have but "deeper" with the second diaphragm). These seem to have come on 88-89 1st gen 4runners. They may also come on 92-94 pickups with the 3.0 V6 but I haven't confirmed that.
If anyone can confirm that the boosters are the same, that would really help my search

Thanks Sven - I actually ended up getting a 1" MC new (AISIN) and plan on keeping my stock single diaphragm booster for starters. I don't think they are compatible with my truck - but thanks!

Sorry - I just re read this, as well as my initial post, where I indicated I'm looking for both booster and MC....and you offered both.
I have the 1" MC, which I have not yet installed - I hope to do the swap with the calipers, rotors, pads and MC this weekend. I may not need the extra booster, but will let you know if I do.
Thanks again and sorry for the knee jerk reaction earlier today - I had just woken up
