zero (o) offset wheel? vs stock
#2
I am looking at a rim that is 16x8 with 0 offset and 4.5 backspace http://www.americanracing.com/browse_atx.asp
compared to my stock 16x7 alloys, I cant find anything searching the forums with 0 offset how much of a difference would these be?

Offset and backspace are the same thing, just written differently. Offset is calculated from the center of the wheel, measured in + or - mm. backspace is calculated from the back face, measured in inches.
A 0 offset wheel means that the mounting surface is right in the center of the wheel. So if it was a 8" wide wheel, that would equate to 4" of backspace, not 4.5".
I have no idea what the stock offset is though. If it is 4 5/8 BS, that works out to about -28 offset.

Easiest to just stick with backspacing and width for determining how far out a given setup will stick out:
