so I decided to try my tires in my yard which still has a decent amount of snow . i go in on a flat part , then i turn to go up the hill , and then dont you know , it started getting stuck, then would not go up the hill , in 4lo then i get out , and see the tires are packed with snow.so I try to back out and of course no traction , finally get it out , but it took a few mins to go the 50 or so feet . so needless to say I am a little tourqed about these supposed to be awsome in the snow at's .

Big difference too between snow in a yard (grass/dirt) and snow on a road. Snowy grass (especially old snow) is like the slipperiest, nastiest stuff there is. Way different than fresh snow on a paved road. I think most people are saying they dominate the snow when driving on the road.

OKAY, I am not so disappointed anymore, was going up a shortcut to my house and with all the snow melting it turned into a mudbog, I saw a Jeep sitting stuck apparently the guy was going to fast with bald tires. so I helped him get unstuck , but i had to go down a small embankment to get to him. with no place to turn around , i yanked his ass out in reverse going uphill , and the these tire dug in and ate up the snow and mud to get out.

^^^Cool pic Birdbrain. I had to figure out the rooster tail going the wrong way

I notice my Duratracs clear snow very well; a lot better than my BFG A/T's did.

I agree, rarely did we stop and i noticed snow or even mud in my tracks, The only time they did not clear very well was the nasty, cakey, thick, clay mud that very few tires clear well.

just got a set of 265/70r17 C rated for the wifes tacoma
(and i choose C Rated bacause the truck came with P- metric tires stock, so LT witrh a C Rating is a big upgrade)

they ride nice and no squirmy feeling on the freeway on the way home

i plan on getting 285/75r16 for the 4runner when i get the rest of the lift on

Where did you buy them from? I want to get 265/75/16 c range duratracs for my 4runner. But having a tough time with the $1000 quote I got for a set of 4 tires. I need to find someone within reasonable driving distance that can throw on a set for a little less then a grand.

discount tire in tacoma,(they had them in stock and lacey didn't)
they gave me $50.oo per trade-in on my stock tires and they had a $40.oo rebate.
or i might have gone to 4wheel they are cheaper, however discount will match price if you ask
i have bought all my new tires at discount lately, if you ask they wiil often lower the price on the tire, or part of the labor.
he asked about siping for $12.oo per and i said how $10.oo per, and he didnt even bat an eye-he said you bet.
but i changed my mind on the siping and didnt do it.

I have heard/read one guy that couldn't get them balanced very well, but that is one out of many reports on them.
I am surely looking once I get to that point of getting tires.

balance beads can be a pain if you air down often
but they sure work well
