Thoughts on tire deals from Pro Comp (buy 3 get 1 free)?

Well first off . Does this site rock or what??. OK I have read thread after thread on tires. This is my first yota 4x4 and after getting her in good running order I am ready for some new tires.. I dont do alot of wheeling but when i do it is mostly in the mud and hills of southern illinois. I have about 500 to spend and was looking for some advice on some good mud tires that i can use on a daily driver. Is 30 to 40 thousand to many miles to hope for from a set.. Pro Comp has a buy 3 get 1 free till the end of october.. Are they worth it?? I know this is a worn out topic and i appologize for rehashing it again.. Thanks for posting guys..

ive gotten 50k of usable tread out of my BFD mud terrains, dunno abt the pro comps, it would prob. be safe to estimate 30k, if your willing to deal with that then go for it

well, the BFG's are gonna be more expensive than the pro comps, esp. with that deal going on. one thing about these MTs though is they get REALLY loud towards the end. I also have a fairly reserved driving style on the road, being that i have a lifted, slow vehicle, i drive pretty slow and only speed on the interstate (80 in a 70). though i dont have any ice or snow down here in florida so you might want to consider that if you get lots of snow where you live, mud terrains are not usually that great in ice (atleast the one time these saw ice it was pretty scary)

Just be sure to rotate what ever tires you do get. I have a set of BFG mud-terrains and rotate them every oil change. They are a little "iffy" in the ice/snow. I think I might get a set of all-terrains just for the winter.

Theres a place near me that sells pro-comp and has the same deal. Promblem is I checked on them one time and it was gonna be over $600 even with the deal seems too high to me.

I've got 44,832 miles on my Wrangler MT/Rs...with probably about another
5-7K left...and I 100% agree with 89dlz, proper rotation will make them last a lot longer

First off, and I am surprised it has not been mentioned yet but its really not a 'deal', regarding the Buy 3 get 1 free. Do some research and you will find its all a marketing ploy.

I've ran Pro Comp tires before and they are OK. That said I would rather spend my money on Goodyear, BFG or Interco. The MTR's are a great tire, no doubt but they are more $$. I've ran a couple sets of BFG Muds and they are good. I have no experience with the Truxus MT but from what I have heard I would not hesistate to run them, Interco makes a good tire and the price is hard to beat.

Seems to me that the Pro Comps are almost always "on sale" at the 4 for 3 pricing. It is the only time that they are down to a comparable price. That beign said I wouldn't spend money on either Pro Comps or BFGs.

MTRs are OK. The new Toyos are supposed to be nice but I haven't run them. In my opinion the best MT I have found it the Hankook RT01. I have over 30000 miles on a set and they are still at ~50% tread. They are super quiet on the road and, for a radial, they are awsome offroad as well.
