restoring late 90's Tacoma wheels
I figured I'd make a post about the wheels I got recently and what I did to them. I got them from a lady I work with, but the catch was I only got three mounted on some goodyears. They were oxidized really badly, so I sanded them down and wire wheeled them. I used the wire wheel, then 150 grit, then 400, and finally 800; all wet sanding. I paid $40 for the 3 wheels and tires and then bought another
wheel of eBay for $70.
This is after sanding before paint:

For paint I used dupli color silver wheel paint, 3 light coats. Then I used the clear coat from dupli color, 2 coats.

Pretty happy with how they turned out!

NICE! I just scored a set of Taco wheels and they look pretty rough. Did you use a wire wheel on your grinder or get one of those smaller ones that fit a drill? I'm probably going to strip the tires off mine and get the valve core out out first and go black with mine.
