Question about Tire width

I have a 1986 yota 4x4 at stock height. Now, I came accross a set of 31x12.5x15 interco thornbirds. Now, is 12.5 too wide to run on the truck and if so what measures do I have to take in order to make them work?

thanks in advance guys,
Paul

your probably gonna rub on the pinch weld... its the rail of metal kinda that runs all the way down your truck...you can cut it or pound it down for your tires to not rub

Thornbirds are, according to everyone I've ever spoken to, the worst tire for off road and one of the worst on-road tires ever made...

Unless you're doing a lot of sand, that tire in that size would be a really bad choice for anything other than attracting girls with missing front teeth and a tramp stamp the size of Montana.

if you get a wide wheel with a negative rwd offset u should be able to make them fit maybe some minor trimming on fenders

i had thornbirds on my yota and they suck in mud snow and if you drive on the road alot the lugs will actually start to fly off if you can find a 31x10.5 in another tire you should be ok

LOL at the reply's. Yea I knew they sucked to a certain degree but I didnt know that this many ppl thought they were this bad. Only reason why I was considering getting them b/c I found a set of 4 w/ nice tread for $150. I already have basically brand new 31inch TSL radials on the truck now, I was just gonna buy the thornturds as backup but I think u guys talked me outta it lol.
