Pizza cutters!
There is alot of fuss about fat tires vs thin! I would rather go thin! Better gas mileage, less wear on your drive train, and more power. I like to mess around in the snow alot ( cat hunting ) and was wondering if anyone has had success with skinny tires in the snow, and just wheelin in general! . Please post pictures and feedback! Personal experience would be nice!

The general though long ago was if you didn't have lots of power to spare its better to have narrow tires to get down (sink) to where the traction is. If you have lots of power then its better to have big wide tires to spin at ridiculous rpm's and try to power out.
Weight also plays into it. Heavy vehicles should have narrow tires to dig down and lighter ones should have wide tires and try to float on top.
This was back in the heyday of Peterson's 4wd.

My bfg 33x10.5 km2s were pretty good on the yota, i moved to a 35x12.5 but honestly the 33x10.5 measured a true 32x9.5 and the 35s measure 34x10.75. Most tires aren't nearly wide as they claim.

I run skinny tires all the time, both mud and snow. These trucks just do better with skinny tires insted of the wide ones. However, it's hard to find a skinny tire any more. The best I've been able to do is 30x9.

When I lived out west, I had 34x11 Boggers for a bit and then 35x12.50-ish off-brands on my FJ40. In spring, summer, and fall, the skinny boggers were great. Terrible in the snow. Boggers like to dig, and when you dig through 4-8' of snow, there is no bottom and you end up sitting on the frame. But the wider tires were more apt to stay on top and further progress could be made. On snow covered roads, like highways, they all sucked without siping. After we siped the off-brands, they were good to go just about anywhere.

I see how fat tires would be good in really deep snow ( just float) and I understand that there are alot of variables but skinny tires seem better 2 me! More pounds per square inch but looking for some pics or videos of a light toyota runnin them in the snow. I wanna run a 35 inch tire and I do play in the snow alot in some

Skinny tires are the way to go. I've done a lot of driving back and forth to my cabin and skinny tires just work. Very rarely do I need to put on chains. Wider tires on other trucks always need chains. Just too much rolling mass for a small 22re to turn in low traction situations.

Nice rig!!! I want to run skinny I used 2 have a set of Bfg At that were 33x9.50r15 but u can't find them anymore. Now I run 33x10.50r15 toyo mts which are not 2 fat but I miss the 9.50. I'm thinking about moving up 2 a 35 in tire because I have 5.29 gears. If I did though I would want a 35 x10.50. I really like my skinny tires!!!!

I'm going over to 16's myself later. Will order up some Marsh racing rockcrawler steelies in 16.0 x 8.0 with maybe 3.5 or 3.75 backspace.
