I am looking to get tires when i do a 4inch suspension lift on my 1986 turbo toyota pickup. what are your prefrences for tire size? I was debating on 33/10.5 because my truck is my daily driver, but was afraid that the tires might look too small on truck. Opions WELCOME! and also would like to see pics of same model pickups with simialr lift and tire size. THANKS!

33x10.5 is a very common size for trucks running bigger tires that are daily drivers. theres a "what tire will fit thread" that has tons of pictures to look at to give you a idea of that they look like.

Should not need a 4" lift with that size tire, unless you are planning to do the lift regardless:

I know that I don't need a lift but I want to do the lift for looks. The truck is my daily driver and I want to get the best gas mileage and ride I can. Will there be much difference between the 10.5 to the 12.5? Also was wondering bout 34x10.5? I like the 10.5 look. My truck is a 1986 long bed factory Turbo. Thanks for info and opions!

Well, I don't know about where you live, but here there are grooves in the roads and freeways that shoot you around the road and make you look like an Irish man driving home from a St Patty's day party when you have wide tires on.

i have 33/10.5's on almost no lift. if i had a bracket lift and 33's i'd be really unhappy with the way it looks..... just saying.... 35/12.5 if you HAVE to lift it.

There's a reason why I went up to 35's when I had my 4" and 33's installed.....just sayin...

33's are the way to go on a DD. I prefer the COOKIE CUTTER look myself anyway. The skinnier tire cuts through the muck better and can run on a smaller horsepower rig. The wider tires need more HP to spin 'em and you will get a nicer ride onroad with the 10.50 width tire. Good luck

I know this thread has been dead... but what's the reason why you went from 33's to 35's with a 4" lift? I have 33's on my 94 Pickup lifted 4" and feels great, but I'm considering changing to 35's instead since I need new tires anyway. How do the 35's drive with 4.88 gears? I still have 4.10 gears so if I went to 35's I'd get 5.29's..... oh decisions, decisions. Anyway your input would be great trying to buy these tires soon.

I have 1.5" spacer lift and 35s. Looks about right.. Im going to 37s in a month or two without lifting.

4" lift and 33s looks stupid. I had that on my old 4runner for a bit until I got 36s. Looks like you have 30" pizza cutters
Go 35x10.50 bare minimum. I still get 18-19mpg avg on 35s.

So your saying that you are running a 35" tire on stock suspension? Well balljoint spacers I mean.

I'm running a 33/12.50r15 and mine intend to rub when I turn my wheel all the way left or right. They just barley rub tho not enough to hurt. So my question to you is how are you running a 35" tire. If you don't mind could you give me a little info from wheel size, width, an maybe type of wheel that your running. I myself would love to run a 35" tire but didn't think I could without more lift.

I am currently running 33x12.5 with no lift an am installing a 4" lift soon , it will look as good as you like , just because someone doesnt like the look doesnt mean you cant like it , its your truck , dont worry about what others think

I'm running 33x12.5x15 on a 4 inch lift and I think they look fine. I personally think 35's might look too big, but that's just me. I don't drive a lifted truck with big tires for the looks though, but still, it does look pretty cool .

theyre 315/70R17s on FJ cruiser 17x7.5 wheels. Had to put some 1/2" wheel spacers on so they don't rub steering/frame components. The rear I put some bump stop spacers in and cut some fender out. Works great.

Well the 33x12.50x15's handle great for me.. So I don't know what you guys mean by the 12.50's will handle poorly on the road. Even bumpy roads are easy to stay in control. I want to get 35" MTR's w/ kevlar in the next couple months but I'm worried about how it'll handle on corners and off road. I don't want it feeling like I'm always going to tip, and I take corners pretty fast... You guys think that 35's will make a big difference? And if so should I just get 1/2" wheel spacers?
