I have yet another set of fj80 wheels on their way. I am going with a OEMish look and am selling my American Racing wheels.
I am trying to decide between the 305 and 295. The only problem is not too many companies make a 295.
I will test fit a few tires.....still unsure and might just pull the trigger on MTRs
The saga continues

I just bought another set of 35x12.5x15 MT/R's and Mickey T Classic II's but I'll still run the YokoHomos on the street.
So my wheeling tires are Goodyear MT/R's Should last forever just as a trail tire.

my third set of fj 80 wheels and tires will be here on the 20th. I have two other fj80 wheels that I am going to get some "test" tires mounted on.
Damn MTRs....

www.tires.com
This place is awesome. They have free shipping on in stock wheels and tires.
285 Nitto--$124
285 BFG m/t--$194
295 Nitto--$135
285 MTR--$178 (buy 4 get $75 mail in rebate)
305 Nitto--$150
305 BFG M/t--$209
They don't list a 305 MTR I will call and see if they do.
Plus they offer replacement certiicates for replacements. 70-85 bucks for all four. Not too bad.
FYI I am not interested in the BFG, just listed it for comparison.
just called them and they have NO 305 MTRs.

if you want something realy killer on the trail then get some kind of super swamper.... iroks, tsl/sx, ltb... they are all proven off-road tires and if they are just going to be driven to and from the trail will do well enough on the road.

i actually have a friend (wow), who ran 305 boggers as a daily driver tire and did ALOT of wheeling... I think he got around 20 or 22k miles out of it.. driving several miles to and from the trail.. when I Asked him, he told me the tires did fine on just about anything, except for super wet/slick pavement (first rain after a dryspell).
If the bogger isn't out of your sight yet... id take a closer look at it. It's not that bad as an on-road tire from what I've heard..
the MT/Rs would be a great choice.. i've never had a set but i know about 3 or 4 people who have them and they love them. They last hella long on-road too, 35-40k+ miles is not uncommon.
I run the BFG MTs myself.. I love em to death and they last pretty good (pretty close to MT/Rs).. i took mine and got them safety siped so they do pretty decently in the rain also.

I got my LTBs for $96 a piece at Discount....good wear so far 2k miles and Swamper and TSL are still very readable on the tread blocks, good traction off road too especially in mud
