Second what gear ratio is the best i live in washington state so i have hills i have to deal with. This is my frist yota, are the 90-95 v6 motors all gutless. i just did a Jspec motor swap my last one went tits up so i got a used 50,000 motor from my local import shop and when i get it the injectors were smaller then the one on my older motor any issue there? thanks blake

Welcome to Yotatech. Please utilize the search feature. How to determine your gear ratio is asked here every single day it seems. A simple google search even would have given you several websites that break down the code on your door jamb. There is not just one ratio for that year. Your experience here will be much better if you put a little bit of effort into researching your information rather than just asking general questions that have already been covered hundreds of times.
As far as what gears to go with that is a age old debate. With 33's people will argue over 4.56's or 4.88's. I ran 4.88's with 33X12.50 BFG's for 4 years and loved the combo.

Here's the break down of what i was looking for.
I have a stock 90 4runner 3.0 auto.
I have been doin research and haven't found what i have been looking for. Here what i am looking for and seeing if you you guys can help me out..
I want to put 33" tires, so i would like to know what gear ratio would be good for a daily driver. I live on in the Washington so i have alot of hills around me.
So with that in mind i was wondering what kind of rpm your running at doing 80 miles per hour pulling a hill.. and also with that same gear ratio you are suggesting what kind of mpg are you getting at that kind of speeds, freeway and in city.
thanks you guys for you help!

80 miles per hour up a hill with a 3.0l Auto? Throwing the shennanigans card again. Well, I guess I got close this weekend. I was climbing up to about 7,000 ft at about ~75mph I was running about 4200 RPMs. I have 31's and 4.56 gearing (according to axle code, not verified).
Hope that helps.

Guess you have not driven your rig lately. What he meant is you'll be lucky to hit 80 going downhill let alone uphill. Also like I said earlier if you ask 10 people what gears to go with your going to get a bunch of different answers. I'd run 4.88's if it were me IF I knew I was never going to run a bigger tire. I have regeared my rig twice now.. should have just done 5.29's the first time around.
