Mickey Thompson Wheels

Has anyone noticed that Mickey Thomspon no longer offers the Classic? Now that I'm ready to buy a set it seems they yank them out from in front of me...

Anyone know where I may be able to snag a set of 5 15x8's that may still be around? I'd look at any aluminum wheel that's forged, preferably hot forged - I think the hot forged material is much harder and therefore harder to bend.

Any ideas appreciated!

I believe the Challenger is also forged. The Classic II is cast.

The Challengers are also discontinued. Only the Classic IIs are left, even at wheelsforless.com.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I wanted those!!! I have a theory. The Classics and Challengers were both made by Alcoa for MT. Alcoa does not make the Classic II's. I wonder if the Alcoa relationship with MT was dissolved (you know, economy and all - gotta focus on our core business blah blah blah) Just a thought.

I don't think it's the economy, more like stupidity. Why would anyone cut out a profitable part of a business? Maybe it wasn't profitable, or, more like today's businessmen, it wasn't as profitable as they wanted.

Mickey Thompson was recently acquired by Cooper Tires, and therein lies many Great Evils to come! Maybe Cooper just doesn't like Alcoa. More likely, Alcoa doesn't do business the way Cooper does, thus the relationship must be severed.

But back to my predicament: Where to acquire hot forged wheels? Alcoa? They seem only to offer them in 16" sizes and up directly.

I know someone who works for Alcoa wheel for the big rigs, maybe he can direct us to an overstock liquidation. Now that would be sweet!!

Why not just switch to the 16" wheels?
