Looking for a Little 411 Tire Help, Post Pics Please

Hello Guys,

I just picked up my truck last week and with the rains, being busy in life and blah blah I'm just now getting to seeing what I have.

So first things first, I may need tires, what I current have are some Pegasus ? WTH I never heard of them anyway they are 31 10.5 15R 109. So how big can I go?

And I'm looking for some quiet yet if I feel the need to AT it I can.

Here is what I have seen so far +++++++.

1. Toyo Open Country A/T II < seem to be the best for the money
2. General GRABBER AT2 < have a version of these on an 88 Toy Ext
3. Goodyear Wrangler MT/R With Kevlar < not 100% sure
4. BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO < Recommended by a local dealer.

So in the end ouch on all these, any good ones without the ouch? Or is that just the way it goes here? I'm open to ideas, post pics of your tires and thanks.

He is referring to #4 in your first post. BFGoodrich All-Terrain. And if your looking for a mild AT tread, why look at the MTRs? And on that note, I have 33x10.50R15 BFG KM2 mud-terrains and love them. They are pretty quiet(especially for a mud tire, and much quieter than MTRs), and at 70K miles, I'm still not halfway worn down...

Falken Wild Peaks (also known as Rocky Mountain). Quiet on road, have lasted me a decent amount of time and are decent off road.

x3 on the BFG AT/KO's
Not a "really" good mud tire but great at everything else including ice & Snow

I've had them on my last three rigs and love them

Nice so BFG AT/KO's must be a really great tire, this is super helpful and fairly consisatant, so many ding dang tires, seems you could spend weeks looking, which I really prefer not to.

BFGs are fine for pavement. The General Grabbers are nice too. ProComp A/t's are another solid choice. If you are talking about the truck in your avatar, then 31 10.50 is as big as you can go.

So I found these BFG's KO's locally installed for $728, so I wonder if I can save a few clams, yet, that's $167 each + $15 for install + tax, stem, lifetime rotations, lifetime repairs, if they can be repaired. No replacement warranty unless I pay another $20 a tire and that's only good for a year. The shop is bringing them in and will have them in stock Tomorrow, even if I don't buy them at least I can see them, touch them, dangle the carat in front of the rabbit, that's like putting the bait on the hook and see if anything bites lol. But I think that seems fair considering, thoughts and thanks all.

How badly do you need them? If you can wait bfg usually does promotions on them to save 70 bones on a set of 4

Also Firestone destination a/t is a very good tire overall.

Everybody and their brother runs BFG ATs. They are a decent tire since they are tough , wear excellent, and have a good rubber compound - but IMO the tread pattern is outdated compared to other "hybrid/extreme AT tires" these days that offer superior traction on-road in situations like heavy rain ice and snow (since the BFGs tread pattern is so symmetrical w/o any real exit blocks for directing water out from under the tire). Don't get me wrong though as they are still a great tire, just not for me.

I would personally look into a more modern design tire tread pattern or just a more aggressive one (since you mentioned MTRs). Look at Goodyear Duratrac, Cooper ST Maxx, Falken Wildpeak, Nitto Terra Grapplers, ProComp Extreme AT, Firestone Destination At, Hankook Dunapro ATM, etc etc.

There's no set date for the promos, I'd check around at local tire shops to get the best deals as slot of times the promos are company based with their distributor

If you have a Discount or Americas tire or some other large chain store, if you find a cheap price online, they will usually beat it. So dig around a find those oddball online tire vendors and print off the page. Then give your local store the chance to beat it.
