How many miles From an A/T Tire?
#1
How many real miles (no fish tales) are you getting out of your A/T tires? Revo fans? Toyo Open County? Michelin A/T? I want to know what a hard core back road & dirt road bandit can expect form a high-quality A/T tire.

My michelin ltx/at (yeah not exaaaacclty an all-terrain tire in my book) have worn really well. I've put over 40k on them since i've had the truck, and they were on there long before i had it. I would guess at least 65-70k total on them and they still look and ride great.

At 0 miles, I didn't measure, but Revos were advertised to have 13/32" tread.
At 6410 miles they had 11.97/32" tread left.
At 10021 miles they had 11.85/32" tread left.
So let's say at 5/32" they become useless as truck tires, and they maintain same wear rate, that should yield roughly 226,000 miles.
Unless when they say there is softer compound down below they really mean it.

Nokian Vatiiva Or Yokohama Geolander A/T II+
Both have an 80,000KM tread life guarantee (KM not Miles)
I run 31X10.50R15 Vatiiva's in the winter and 32X11.50R15 Geolanders in the Summer

my wife had about 80,000 miles ,no bull on here factory bfg's on her S10 zr2 ,that was right to the wear bars,i highly dougbt that you would get that from a replacement set cause the fatory tires are always slightly differnt from consumer tires.she had em rotated every other oil change and they wernt the k/o's

i'm running the Yokohama Geolander A/T II+ now and love them. only have about 16,000 miles on them at the moment. great traction on and off-road and they're smooth and quiet. $95 ea i think.

BFGs ATs have been proven to last a while but how is handling after say 40k? My firend has a bit over 40k on his BFGs and while they still have tread they have hardened quite a bit from when they were new and he says the on-road handling in the dry has degraded quite a bit.
The bad on the BFGs is the price versus comparable tires that do have mileage warranties and especially for daily driven trucks. The Revos and Geolandars both have 50k warranties and from what I've seen even close to 50k on both these tires the tread hasn't hardened like the BFGs and they handle the street better with alot of miles on them.

) I ran a set of Dayton Radial Stags for over 80k miles and they were only 35K mile tires!
