How large of tires can you fit on a 1st gen with no lift?

Ok so I have been searching the forum for a couple days trying to find information on how big of tires will fit on a 1st gen truck, but I have found nothing besides the the Ifs thread.

Is there a thread for SA tire fitments? Because I couldn't find it at all.

Now to my question. How large of tires can I fit on my 1981 Toyota long box 4x4? It's a project truck and for now it will be a solely trail truck and I was just wondering what is the biggest size with no lift? And what is the best size based on experience? Any help is appreciated.

If your spring s are in good shape 33's but they will rub periodically.
32's more realistically

A friend of mine had 32x11.50s on his stock '81 with only a little rub at full flex. I wouldn't go bigger than 31x10.50 myself though.
