Exclamation Help Michelin Tires!!

Hi, this has probably been posted before, but right now I really don't have time to search the whole forum. Tomorrow after school I am going into merchants to buy new tires, the ones I have now are on their last turn, the tread is down to about the thickness of a penny in areas, I know its bad to wait this long, but o well. Well my dad said he would pay for new tires as long as they are Michelin, so guess what, I'm going with Michelin, lol. The ones that came with my truck when I bought it are too much like car tires, so I need recommendations on a good tire, that has equal mud and snow capability, and moderate comfort level. I am also considering a larger tire size, but I really don't want it to rub at all even with tight turns, and will merchants even put on larger than stock tires? What about the spare tire? How many people have larger tires, without a spare? If I got a different model tire but same size, would I still have to upgrade the spare? So I need help, what size?(without any rubbing), what model of Michelin should i get? Any help would be Great!!! Thanks in advance!

honestly, michelins are ok, but they are way overpriced, and dont have any good offroading tires until you start getting into nasty agriculture tires

offroadability isnt somehting even considered in the michelins... the only one that is anywhere less street than any of there other ones are the LTX M/S

and if you want absolutely no rubbing, stick with stock size.... most stock size tries rub under compression...

I was looking at the Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO with UNI-T AQII Technology tires. Anyone have these? On the site they have great reviews. How is traction in mud/snow/rain, and comfort level as in noise and vibrations? The only bad things I heard is that it is hard to keep the truck in a straight line, and that they really ride rough. Small percentage of complaints, just want to see what your experience has been. I think if you guys really recommend them, and on the websites I have looked at recommend them, I could have a chance with changing my dads opinion. Im just afraid of getting it back from the tire place, and having a really rough and loud ride, lol.

They're the best tire you can buy unless you are getting into the heavy wheeling situations. They get virtually nothing but praise from people who own them. If you're going with Michelin's, both the LTX M/S and A/T are good tires. They have excellent treadwear, but are pricey and aren't very agressive.

PS: is your signature supposed to say "sliver" and not "silver"?

yea I'm leaning away from Michelin's, too expensive and not many features. I don't really get into any heavy wheeling situations that often. My signature is supposed to say silver, thanks, ill change that, lol

If Michelin is your only option, and you want the most 4wheeling abilty, I would get the LTX A/T.

Michelin makes some very aggressive tires, but they're made in far larger sizes then will fit on your 4Runner.

Yea I just thought of something, my parents might have a problem with the brand, you know, the past of firestone blowouts, i will probably need a lot of info to convince them to get these, how would the ride compare to michelins that are on there now, i have no clue the model or whatever, but in general?

The funny thing is that my dad said the same thing. So that's why I got Michelin. But I have gotta say, they are great tires. I have 44,000 miles on my A/T's and still have plenty of tread left.

My dad has stock size Michelin LTX M/S on his 96 4Runner. His first set lasted over 90,000 miles. He is now on his 2nd set.

Well heres the latest, I just realized that I have the michelin LTX M/S right now, they are really worn down. I also convinced my dad about the bridgestone revo's, I showed him a bunch of websites praising the tires. One last thing, how does the ride feel compared to the michelins? Ive been talking way too much about ride, lol, I get to go in the mud without getting stuck now!!! lol

you shouldn't notice any difference. the michelins might be a *tad* nicer as far as ride quality, but i doubt you'll notice any difference.

I still cant believe how much higher the bridgestones are rated compared to the michelin. Amazing. I will probably notice a bigger difference since Im used to worn out tires now, lol. They were worn out when I bought the truck, so it will be a change. But now i can go mudding and not get stuck the moment I hit mud, hahaha.
