lol first time listener on that one. makes sense though.

my guess is that it would create a non stick surface for your lugs so when you bite into the mud it won't stick inside your lugs and you'll be able to spit it out easier and grab another bite. i just don't think it'll be a spray once and never think of it again kind of deal.

I have heard people spray stuff on their tires when down in Moab crawling on those slick red rocks.

Spray the inner fender well to help that mud slide right off. WD40 works too.

 

what i've heard. if you take your tires and put them in a plastic bag. pour some simple green in there. let them soak for a good day they'll be nice and sticky.

kinda a back yard way to get really stick auto x tires. idk why it wouldn't work for traction on crawling.

 

ive done the simple green trick before.... on a smaller scale tho. alot of the rc crawler guys do that to their tires. it softens the rubber but they will wear out quicker obviously

 

not pam, but all of my mud bogs I just use old oil from my oil changes. Brush it on like paint. then good to go.

 

Mud = slick

Pam/grease/oil = slick

Mud + Pam/grease/oil = SUPER slick

Why not just run bald/treadless/slick tires? The mud won't stick to them either.

Sooooooooooooo dumb....I've been muddin' on a regular basis for years, and I've NEVER heard of ANYTHING as RIDICULOUS as THIS! Want the mud to clean out of your tire's treads? It's called the accelerator pedal you fools!

The only thing more silly than spraying pam on your tires is the concept of you actually holding a can of pam spraying it onto your tires.
I would think a photo of that would be priceless!!

 

I've heard of doing this on your undercarriage to keep *some* of the mud from sticking so bad. Sounds like it would work to a certain degree. Not sure why you'd want to do it on your tires but your wheels might benefit from it.

 

Don't think it would help so much around here but perhaps in clay. If I was going to do it I'd probably go with dry silicon after all wheel spin clears the tire lugs and eventually the liquid lube would spin off too. A problem with bicycle chain and motorcycle chains too. But dry silicon is just me thinking never tried it but have dug many a holes in clay where I needed two shovels; one to dig and another to get the mud of the first.

 

obviously you guys don't mud bog. Lugs on mud tires are for traction not sticky tires, last thing you want on mud tires is the mud to stick and not clear from the tires, the oil is to help the tires clear out. even if it's for an extra 1-2 foot. That can mean whether or not you get through a pit, or go 1 or 2 foot further than the next guy.

We aren't talking mud puddles at moab here, we are talking 1 foot deep mud pits. Well at least myself.
