I took Mak92's advice and found a set of alum wheels instead.

I seriously think these will be my next wheels... if I wanna do something a little more showy but maintain the offroad look

how do you not like those wheels? they look pretty good. plus they're coated in the same material as my snowboard. nothing like snow, dirt, mud or anything sticks to them. and it maintains a shine. its pretty cool. all you have to do is spray it down.

yeah. I think matt needs a 3.75 back spaced wheel though. tacomas with a 4" backspaced wheel usually have to buy a 1/4 inch spacer to clear their brake calipers. read up a couple posts to the guy with the tacoma.

/\ for everyone that doesnt know 99 and up tacomas came with bigger calipers than all the others.. in which the inside curve of the steel rims dont fit around the caliper.. unless you have wheelspacers.. only aluminum rims will fit without them.

google it if you dont believe me

So if im reading this right, the lower the number in backspacing, the further the rim sticks out? So 3.75 would stick out more than 4? I want my the middle of my tire even with my fender. Woould 3.75 be better to get that?

yeah your gonna need like a 13.50 wide tire to have it stick out that much with that kind of back spacing.. just to let you know with 4inch bs you wont notice that much of a difference in the tire sticking out.. its only a quarter inch more than will stick out with the 3.75.

Why would you want tires to stick out? Just asking.
