Cooper STT vs. BFG KM2

I'm looking at getting some new tires for my 4runner. I'm wanting to move up from my all terrains to a little more aggressive tire. Right now, budget and preference wise, I'm stuck between the Cooper STTs and the BFG KM2s anyone have experience with both tires? Going with 265/75/16s if that helps.

Km2's are alot better tire all around better traction lighter longer wear I see easily 50k on dodge diesels with them they do awesome in the snow aired down great in the rocks if I was going to run radials this would be the tire in fact I put them on my dads SASed 90 and so far their awesome. And the stt is alot like a toyo mt's which I have on my chevy good tire but the km2 eats it alive

Both are pretty good tires.
I'm a fan of coopers, so i'm biased towards them
But ive heard alotta good things about both.
And honestly, proper rotation will make any tire last 50k, lol.
Rotate em ever 3k and you'll be good to go.

Going to bump this thread, Looking at the same option. Either a set of BFG KM2 or COOPER STT 35 x12.50. Going on an 87 SAS'd 4Runner. Just would like to hear opinions, I am having a hard time deciding an need to get them ordered soon.

Both Seem to be good tires, specs are pretty close from want I read. Both seem to have a good number of people running them that like them.

Will be used on an DD/weekend warrior type rig.

Thanks for the information in advance.

I love my KM2s, I have 31's so not sure how much noise 35's would make but mine are about the same as my old wranglers, not bad at all. I have had them almost a year and I can't even tell if the tread has worn at all. For some reason I keep hearing they aren't making the 31 10.50's anymore. But anyway I think you will be happy with them. Is there a big price difference between your choices?

KM2- $1096

STT-$956

so not much. Just not sure what route I want to go. Softer compound on the Km2, longer life on the STT. I run maxxis now so I am used to a soft tire. STT has the same reinforced side wall as the BFG now, I guess that started sometime recently accoding to the owner of the tire shop I go to. The owner did say that the KM2 will grip rock better and stay more pliable at cold temps, but I more overland then rock crawl soooo...

I'm a fan of the BFGs. I have 35K miles on mine and they have well over 3/4 tread life left. Light truck, rotate when I can, and keep air pressure at 35psi. Sidewall recommends 50psi at max weight. At 50 they started to slightly feather on front inside and outside shoulder. Dropped pressure to 35, and have not had any issues since. I was thinking about doing the 35x12.50R17 Toyo M/T when these need replaced though. Not heard a lot of good about the Coops... Just friends and acquaintances though, not experience.
