Breaking down a tire

Breaking down a tire
I've never done this before so this is a first for me...
I'm trying to break a tire down to get some golf balls inside it.
Took out the valve core so there is no pressure.
Laid the tire on the ground and I've tried prying, jumping on it and speaking at it in foregin languages...tire won't come off the bead...it just laughs at me.
What do I need to do to get the tire broke off the rim so I can get some golf balls inside? Am I not holding my mouth right?
Do tell! (please)

Have you tried a long board on the sidewall and try standing on it for more force? I know it works on motorcycle tires. Good luck

One of these works well:

Or use a HiLift jack, base on the sidewall, tire under the rig. Start raising the rig and it'll push the bead off the rim.

take it to a tire place and have them use their machine... why would you want to put golf balls in it tho?

Take it to a tire shop if you don't have the tools. Getting the tire off the wheel wasn't too bad for me. But seating the bead...that was where I had trouble.

Can't you just hit it w/ 150 psi w/ the valve core out and reseat it? That's what I do w/ smaller tires.
Roger...I just don't see what you are talking about?
I am practicing on the spare, so if I can't get it done...then I can still just air it back up and no harm done.

I have no clue, but I want to hear how you end up doing it. I am considering golf balls or BB's. My tires are currently balanced really well, but I know some weights are going to get knocked off soon.

i have one of the tire changers roger shows above... for tire changing, its pretty useless, but the huge bar that comes with it and the beadbreaker part are worth their weight in the $40 i paid for mine...i have changed all 4 of my tires with it... never had a problem seating the bead either.. i have 31s and 7" wide rims... valve core out with my little 5 gallon home compressor

I just kind of wanna know why you want to put golf balls into a tire?
Sorry, because I am too sure this is a stupid question.

I've probably changed 10-15 tires with my HF changer so far (33s and 35s). Between that and the tire irons out of the factory tool kit, it works quite nice. That big bar is quite useful. So nice not having to hassle with tire shops, well worth the $40 it cost. I have it bolted down to a concrete slab, makes it easy to get some leverage on it.

do you have a sams club membership? try working with them, and bring a bucket of KFC or something
i work at sams club. i'd take care of that for you, and the balance for 15.52

To break the bead I suggest bringing it to a shop (by far the easiest way) or using tools like this:

......careful not to damage the bead or the rim if you do it by hand.
Have you tried on of the other products like counterbalance or equal where you can just add through the valve stem?
Golf balls are a very coarse way to balance tires (gravel works well too but it is abrasive).
