Tire preferences are like buttholes, everyone's got one.

X-AWDriver likes the Nitto's. His opinion is valid, even though the tire wasn't on the list. The OP will benefit from knowing all the options. I know a guy who has the Nitto's and loves them too.

I can say nothing good nor bad about them, as I have never driven them.

I have driven the BFG's, and love them.

i vote BFG too. They are quieter on highway than the pro comps. Worth the extra money...they last forever and do grrrrreat in the sand at 6psi.

I love Nitto, and have used their drag radials, as well as their street performance tires for almost 10 years. I just see an overall dominance with the BFG's.

Is it possible the Nitto's just better suit your driving habits maybe? You just seem to be the minority on the subject is all I'm saying.

I guess if my style includes better wear, better dry grip, much better hydroplaning resistance and better price then I guess those suit my style more. My Nittos also ran me $200 less out the door and they now have a mileage warranty which the BFGs don't.

I would love to see a head to head comparison with everyday driving and off road vs BFGs. I've driven my friend's '00 Runner shod with new BFGs vs my Runner with new Nittos and the diff was pretty significant on the highway in the rain. I've driven several Toyotas over the last 10 years shod with BFGs and I can tell the Nittos have better rear end control on slick/snowy surfaces.

I'm in the minority since Nittos still are a relative newcomer to the tire scene and BFGs still live off their looks and popularity since every tire place pushes BFGs even for trucks that will NEVER go off road and they are a poor choice for a truck that will venture barely onto a dirt road. BFGs have had a full 10 year head start and the choices for solid affordable AT tires has been slim til recent years.

Nittos are gaining in popularity and the negatives have been far and inbetween when I read reviews from other Nittos owners.

warrantys on tires are BS. ever actually try to get a manufacturer to stand by one? Call em up, and tell em your tires wore out in 10k miles, and see what the customer service rep tells ya...

oh and do a search on "tread seperation" on the pro comps....Interesting reading...

I like my BF's just fine, but down here we got this Georgia red clay mud, and my treads don't self clean worth a ! Anything else they will handle, but I guess yall have a differen't type of mud in Ca, so they shouldn't give you a problem. Quiet on the road, and still enough bite to take the corners. They do cup a lot easier, just make sure to rotate religiously.

Uhhhh yeah,I been buying tires from Discount for 15 years and I've never had an issue with a pro rated warranty discount when any of my tires wore out that had the warranties. I've never had to deal with a manufacturer direct and that's kinda why I don't buy from small shops or the internet and Discount has never let me down.
