hey guys and girls im new to the site cuz i just bought a 89 toyota pickup sr5 with the 3.0L v6 5 speed with a 6 inch suspension lift done right with traction bars with 33s and i need some new tires was wondering wat the best mud tire or really agressive all terriain is good for 60% street and 40% trail and alot of snow any help

who makes a 6" suspension lift for an 89? Or is that a 4" suspension lift and a 2" body lift or 4" lift and additional 2" from the tires? Pics? Because I think even with a 4" lift and 33's is kinda high as you can fit 35's with a 4" lift with minor pinch weld tuning and the right off-set wheel.

Oh and as far as on a budget, a budget can mean $400 to one person and $1200 to another.

EWWWWWWWW worst tire ever made. Not good on street and not good in mud. Even though that's what it was designed for.

 

I agree, I was being sarcastic...but since he said he was on a budget, you can get great deals on barely used sets

 

lol. I thought you knew better. I picked up a set of 2 year old never seen pavement Mastercraft M/T's for $400 including a 5th A/T for a spare with about the same amount of tread left. Not the best out there but for $400 for almost 90% tread and a few chunks taken out of the lugs with no weather cracking nor sidewall rock rash, I couldn't go wrong. I like mine in the snow. It's not that aggressive of a lug pattern to act like skies like most other dedicated mud tire.

Depends on what type of mud he's talking about. Thin light mud or thick heavy mud. Because almost anything other then Swamper Boggers is gonna be junk in heavy mud. But I wanna say Boggers don't do well in snow, but I could be wrong.

Most good mud tires don't do well in snow because they don't clear out and wind up acting like skies. You have to keep your tire speed up for them to do well. But tire speed is not a safe thing to do on pavement. In your back lot is one thing but on the street is another.

BFG KM2's should do well in both. I don't see IROK's being that great in snow unless you have them siped more then they are.

 

BFG KM2's or Goodyear MTR's.

Craigslist is the best place for tires I've bought so many tires and wheels off cl for less than half price.
My Iroks did a wonderful job in the snow at 30 psi even! Best tire I've ever used in the snow.

 

KM2's x2 Have a set myself I drive my truck every day with a wheeling trip 1-2 times a month 15,000 miles and still alot of tread left

idk its a custom lift done buy the guy i bought it from he has like a offroad and powersports shop so idk how big he told me 6 inch lift the truck doesnt have a body lift i was thinking cooper st, cooper stt or bfg km2

 

As for snow depends on depth of snow, wide mud tires slide like crazy in 3-4 inches, a narrow tire is better. Deep stuff wide is better. Mud like extreme said depends on type: goopy clay or wet humus. If your on a budget you better look at tread life. Have you considered treadwright? Lots of guys on here have run them with positive free back both from the tire and customer service.

However both of these are for 16" wheels so you would probably need new wheels which is not really "on a budget" but you might find someone on cl to swap wheels with.

I have heard good things about the Hankook Dynapro MTs. That they are good in mud, snow, and on the street. I think I am going to get some for my truck when I get new ones. Anybody else know about the Hankooks?
