Anyone running retreaded tires?
I'd like to switch to 16" wheels with 245-75-16 tires on my stock 95 reg cab pickup 4x4. I came across these 10 ply retreads with some meaty tread.

I really like these but have no experience with retreads. Are they good tires? Will they balance out well? Any insight is appreciated.

Wow I have not seen retreads that small in years.
Some caps are good others junk .
Are they Hot or Cold capped ??
How much cheaper then new ??
Rule of thumb not sure if it is a Federal law No recaps on the steering axle. unless your vehicle is never driven on a public road.

lol yea I cant go too big with stock everything and I'd need to regear to 4.88s. I have 31x10.5x15 on now and the truck has no highway power.
Thanks for the Treadwright link. Those Guard Dogs look pretty sick and I read a review from a guy who put them on his 4runner and he had nothing but good things to say. Might end up going with those.

I gave them honest thought....but the price after shipping was getting close to what I could get at my local tire place. I went local. But if the price was 2/3rds or less what name brand would be....count me in, especially if it is a trail rig.

treadwright tires are dot aproved and i had a set of 35's for 4 years and sold them on the truck. they are simply awesome just a little heavy. i also believe the procedure they use is more like making a new tire than simply glueing new tread on. they use an autoclave and mine looked like they had to buff off the excess rubber off the sidewall.

Don't be cheap. Buy new tires, it's just not worth it.
I suppose if it's an exclusive trail rig and you want a couple complete spares and you can afford only retreads or new, it might make sense...
But as your daily driver, I wouldn't.
