any good offroad valve stems out there?

I remember seeing a recessed stem that a guy was running in the sand. Don't know who makes them, but he was telling me that they worked pretty nice, and were safe from objects on the trail. Only thing was he needed an adapter to fill up the tire.

I didn't like the metal ones because they leak after a year or two. There was a nut on the inside of the tire on mine that you had to take the tire off to tighten up. Too much maintenance for me.

Alternately, you could relocate the valve stems either further in, or on the back side of the wheel. Not hard to do, just requires that you take the tires off, and you have to plug the other hole (obviously).
May not be the best option, just throwing an alternative out there.
