Need advice on portable Jump Starters
Hopefully this is the right place to post - since I need this device for camping.
I've done a search before and I've seen recommendations on here for the JNC 660 but I was hoping to spend less. I'm only out camping a few weekends a year and I want that extra peace-of-mind knowing I can jump my truck if needed.
- I have an 02 4Runner
- I don't need a built in air compressor, already have that
- Don't need a jump starter that needs to power additional items
Just need a portable jump starter that will not break the bank but will provide a jump when needed.
For instance, walmart has the B&D on sale for $36. Here it is on amazon: Black and Decker 300AMP
I don't know jack squat about these or how many amps I need for cranking or anything - i just need something that will do the job in case I'm in that situation
Thanks!
Rob

I've had my JNC660 for a few years and it works great. I purchased it from the same place, not sure if you notice, the $147 includes shipping. Unfortunately, I have no experiences with other models.

I work for roadside service and towing. We only use JNC 660s or better, tried the other ones with less power and yea they work but if the battery is really dead your screwed.
I use my JNC660 as does the other 3 guys and trust me i jumped ALOT of stuff. Fully charged I jumped a diesel truck, a friggin motor home (and Im talking a fullsize RV!), numerous cars, etc. In a day I will jump at least 10+ cars, no need to recharge it unless I do a diesel truck or two. My boss has one thats gotta be at least 5 years old, still holds a good charge and works well.
JNC660 is worth it, buy once and cry once.
