I just picked my ARB fridge/freezer yesterday at their warehouse (last remaining one until the new shipment after the new year). I'm just wondering how accurate the temperature reading is. I've noticed mine fluctuated a bit but that's probably due to me messing with it still since it's new.

Hey Salue, long time no see.

I think it is pretty accurate.
I set it so it is about 2 degrees Celsius, which is the right temperature for food and beverages.

It pretty much stays put the whole time I use it.

I have the transport bag too, but I have not used it yet.

I will be modding my lid later to open up from the side.

Yeah, it's definitely been awhile. Been busy the past few years with work but things have settled down now so I've got time again. I bought an 80 series Cruiser to be my weekend toy now (4runner is wife's DD) and am taking advantage of the great weather.
I saw pics of your trip to Rainier; Awesome!
If you ever go out on a ride or camping and don't mind the company of myself and my wife, let me know.
Back to topic- Good to know about the temperature reading being steady. You'll have to let me know once you use the insulation bag. I figured I didn't really need it quite yet since it is getting to the cold season.
I do like that lid mod idea though.

Yes, Mt. Rainier was so awesome.
So much that I am seriously thinking about going there again for next years vacation.

I was reading up on that hinge mod, and he says you can get away without installing the new lock, and just use the original one.
That way the T bag will still function as before instead of modding the bag.

 

Yeah, I lived in Vegas for a year last year for my job and there aren't many places you can camp there so when I got back up here in July, I was camping/fishing almost every weekend to make up for it. But, I still have not camped at Rainier. That's on my to do list next year.

The only thing about that lid mod is, I'm afraid of drilling holes in my new fridge ...Still too new to me, you know what I mean?

My fridge has some dents in it already, so it is broken in
I may PayPal the guy tomorrow and get the kit.
I have plenty of downtime to work on it since I am out on strike right now.

 

Be the guinea pig and see if it works as well as he makes it out to look.

I think the side open would be more convenient, but I still need to get a base mount as well so I don't have to strap the whole thing down.

Since you're out on strike, it sounds like extra time to go out exploring. I was planning on going out this weekend but with the rain coming, I'm not sure. I'm pretty much taking every other Friday off to use up my vacation time.

I need to get a mount too; just not sure if I want the slide mount or not. I guess I need to figure out how I'm going to build the cargo box first. Instead of having a full cargo box to cover the whole rear cargo area, I might notch the section where the fridge sits so that it won't sit high and I can still open the lid inside cargo area.

 

Yeah, I thought I would have extra time to get out too, but I am catching up on a lot of work at home.
Plus my oldest son is in town that I have not seen since July of last year.

He is here on leave from his third tour in Iraq.

If your fridge is going in the Cruiser, you have lots more room than I do.
I have seen some pretty good setups with the fridge in the back online.
