took these with a fuji z33 waterproof. awesome compact. wish it had more zoom though.

sorry, im having some issues with posting pictures off of facebook. gimme a sec here

ok, im not sure if this has been discovered before but another way to post a picture is right click it on the website and go to "view image" .it opens it up in a new window and you can copy that url in to post the picture.

this one was through the glass at the local zoo.

buggers kept trying to take my camera out of my hand.

notice the cow. this was how all of the falling rocks signs were in Red River NM

me too! actually, the last film camera I ever bought was a 503CW.. in blue... it is now back in its original boxes. I'm not sure when it will come out again, as I'm much more likely to shoot my beater 501cm if I'm going to shoot film again.

heres a shot from last weekend on the D3 though.

Dang i got my 500cm in 1982... 50/80/150 mm lenses, 4 film backs n a polaroid back n doodads, i used to handcuff case to my arm when in an airport, security loved that. wish i had a digital back for that system.

fireteacher - Photomatix? other HDR program? Masking?

I'm a fan of the third pic down! nice shot. I am starting to like the D40... I bought one for my wife a while back and have probably messed with it more than she has!

only 2 are HDR's. 3rd one down is NOT an HDR image! I see those sunsets every day out to sea.

here is the info from the exif data...

Focal Length - 300mm
shutter speed - 1/1000
aperture - F/5.6
ISO - 200

a basic idea on shooting the moon is to shoot it as it is, front lit by the sun. knowing that you can use the sunny 16 rule/BDE or whatever you prefer to call it.

for front lit objects in direct sunlight, your exposure will be 1/iso @ f/16

there is a little variance with the rule, such as digital sensitivity not necessarily being perfectly calibrated, and even film speeds not being quite true to advertised... but it will give you a nice starting point.

I've always used the "Lunar 11" rule, f/11 and match shutter speed to ISO.. So, 200 iso = 1/250th second shutter speed.
