Windows Moviemaker works just fine for Molly and me.

Adobe Premier is the top-shelf, there is a Premier Elements too that has trimmed down features, but a much better price.

Sony Movie Studio Platinum with DVD Architect will do everything now and into the HD future. All kinds of free plugins, tutorials included, renders faster and more reliably than most, and on sale for about $80. Check Amazon, etc.

Mac or PC? I'm guessing PC,

Preferred in this order: Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere Elements, Pinnacle, Roxio VideoWave series, etc etc. then Windows Movie Maker

Mac: Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Express, iMovie HD

I recently got my hands on Premiere Pro and I must say....it's powerful! I'm still working through the depth of it but I'd definately recommend it to anyone looking for a little more thatn Movie Maker (not that it's a bad program either).

There are lots of software that you can use but the easier is the Windows Movie Maker.
I've tried also the Adobe Premiere Pro and it's more updated and easy to manage as well.
If you really don't have much knowledge on video software better to learn from the easiest
so it would be easy for you to understand the features.

Lol I was going to say Final Cut Pro but Sony Vegas is a great program also (but I myself am a MAC/Apple user)

Exactly what Rudy97 said. I have both Adobe Premier and Sony Vegas, I love them both. Windows Movie Maker = Horrible especially pre Vista/Windows 7. Its not that bad in Windows 7 though.

But if your gonna do video editing all the time, get a Mac, hands down what I would use (and many others) for full time video editing.

DaVinci Resolve is a professional video editing software that you can download for FREE. Its like Premiere Pro, so if you've used that program, using DaVinci would be no problem. Plus if you want to buy it, Its only $300 bucks! Compared to Premiere, which is a $50/month subscription from Adobe, Its a steal.

I use it for my Youtube Videos. Look them up, Benji Built on Youtube.
