Temperature Sender Adapter?

I want to thread the Toyota temp gauge sender into a Chevy block. Everybody says I should be able to find a thread adapter at an autoparts store, but every time I ask for it they look at me like I have an arm growing out of my forehead.

I tried a hydraulic shop, and although they understood what I described, they didn't have anything that fit.

This has been done before. Does anyone know if I can just call somewhere and order one?

I got mine at Home Depot in the plumbing section.

I forget the exact sizes though. Bring in your Toyota sender, and the stock Chevy sender, and you should be able to match it up.

I think the Toy sender is actually a metric thread, but standard threads will work. Mine actually leaks just a little tiny bit. I need to take it out and re-seal it.
