swap questions help!!!!!
okay so i picked up a 89 4runner the otherday and i am thinking of doing an engine swap due to the fact that it has 300 000km on it with no rebuild or so the PO says.
i was thinking ive heard of people doing chev small block swaps i was wondering if anyone has done a 350 small block swap or any other small block chev swap for that matter. which would be the simplest but most power?
or am i beating a dead horse and should just go with a 3.4 swap?
so confused.....

V8 swap is probably a bit cheaper initially. You just have to be careful about breaking drivetrain components.
3.4 swap is mechanically a lot easier, with minimal fab work to be done. Electrical is frightening to some, but you'll need to that both ways.
How important is it to you to keep it Toyota, is the question?

there are so many after market products for a chevy 350 its hard to go wrong with the ease of the swap, just don't let anyone tell you it will be cheap, still its cheaper than both the 4.3L chevy and 3.4L toyota motor. no fab work is required with the 350 swap if you get the right parts, that alone will eliminate a lot of problems down the road.

what do you want to do with the rig? speed racin, wheelin, crawling, ect. How you drive it makes pointing you in the right direction a bit easier. Ide say 3.4 for easy, 43 for some extra american power and if you want real power then V8. All can be done
