302 Swap

So Ive got a 302 HO out of an 84 stang and I think it needs to find a home in yota. I was wondering what would be a good manual trans to stick behind it. I did some research on the t5 from that same car and it had the same ratios as the yota except for 5th gear. I also heard that the w56 will hold up for a while as long as its driven sensibly but who does that. Anyways I need some input I want this thing in within a couple weeks or so. NV4500, T18, NP435?????? Not sure about losing a gear though for freeway use.

The stock 5sp from a 89-95 v6 (r150?) Is plenty strong.
pretty much all the v6 gear is overbuilt for that engine.

Do you know if the R150 will bolt up to the transfer case from the 22re pickup? Or are they different cases?

Im pretty sure you can get an adapter, but you might just want to track down a tranny+ t-case combo.

if you want a toyota tranny go with a r151 and the t-case that goes with it less adapters to buy and you get 23 spline.

nv4500

if you are planning on puting your truck through the ringgers i would highly reconmend throwing a nv 4500 at it, i work at a trans shop and have seen the yota trannys grenade with big tires and a heavy foot, my good freind has a 69 bronco with 35s and a 450hp 347 stroker in it and the nv 4500 he put in there loves every minuet of it.

cheers
