ok here is my project 92 toy ext cab i want to put a 1.6 or 1.9 vw diesel motor in it because i want fuel econmy and be able to run bio fuel and i also think it would be awsome to have it because of the turbo sounds and the clanking of the motor but.... they suck! for horse power because i will be pushing 39.5 iroks with dana 44s in about 6 feet of snow with 3 psi of air in the tires and this truck is built i have a 3.4 2000 tacoma motor in it now with a tacoma tanny with dual ts and rear 4.7 kit and i can go down to 5.89 in my diffs for the axles is the lowest gear ratio i can do

so my question is would it be worht doing a diesel swap and what kinda upgrades can i do for more hp/torq and what are they and how much and i also want it to be a fully mechanical engine like 3 wires to run it pretty much and what parts do i need and how much hp can i get out of it and also the truck is driving 45 mins max!!! on the high way to the mountains other then that it does no on road driving it is nothing but a mountain rig so i can do what i want to with it so reccomandations are needed and i will also post pics if i do the swap and i ahve done a ton of research and read other posts but still cant decide! so help haha!

also any other diesel ideas are welcome keep in mind weight is a isssue!

 

Also has to have power to go through all of that and be able to fit my York air comp my high out put power steering pully and a high out put alternator

 

Run the Mercedes om617,you will kill a mechanically injected vw engine,plus you can use the vickers Mercedes power steering pump,gm ho alternator and ac mounts for a rotory ac compressor.
