I have a 1988 4x4 extra cab that needs an engine, and trans/t-case. I also have a 89 4x4 extra cab that is wrecked. My plan is to pull everything from the 89 as one unit, ecu included, and put in the 88. Does anyone see any issues i may have with wiring or anything else? Thank you.

 

I assume the 88 was a RE as well?
If it is no wiring would be needed. Pull the shifter off your transmission and as long as you have a high enough hoist you can pull the whole drive train out in one piece and drop right into your other truck. Would be a 100% direct bolt in, as long as there both manuals of course. 2 people could easily do the swap in a solid day
