5speed to auto?

so the donor truck i'm looking at is an auto. i'm toying with the idea of converting to an auto to save on having to buy a new ecu and wiring harness. just swap engine, trany, tcase and be done. any thoughts on this? i know everyone says the auto on the 2nd gen is a dog, but has it improved in teh 3rd gens?

Swapping Autos

You will need a ECT/ECU setup from the donor truck, or swap in an after market controll unit. That's what I did, checkout my website. I mounted the shift switches on the steering wheel, way cool. Don't forget the speedometer connections also. I use a GPS for a speedometer.

Either way you go about it would be pretty easy. Youll just have to do little wiring if you want to stay manual. I could lead you to a guy who can get the ecu plugs Part numbers from the factory. There cheap too All you have to do is splice some wiring thus keeping your stock harness so all you need is an ecu. I could help you some with the wiring if you need some help

More fun and control I say dont convert to an auto till V8

Fillsrunner4,
Hey could you send the info on where to buy the factory connectors. I have trouble locating all the ones I needed.
