Geesh, where are your priorities Ceb?

P.S. I didn't think anyone was worse than me at having a mod list a decade long...and needing that long to do it all.

I was really gung ho about using a diesel before I learned of the 1UZ potential. Going from petrol to diesel is alot more work and from the costs I was gathering, more expensive.

I'd like to throw a Hino diesel (Toyota's truck division) into an 85 4Runner someday...

Yeah, I know, for you it's difficult because you've very little diesels and the ones you have are american ones, big and with not as much hp they could give.

I love my engine but I wouldn't say no to the HDJ-80 one (Diesel FJ80). A 4.2 Turbo Diesel that can be intercooled and gives more than 200HP...

David

PS: Where are your other wheels? You've one of the nicest 4Runners I've seen!

Thanks for the compliment! My other wheels have been sold to Bill (PAHydrohead). Those are 33's on 15x8 Mickey Thompson Classic II's.

I'm beadlocking my factory SR5 alloys and going to run 35's. I had 1 done as a test and will get the others done when I get my act together and get my other 4 wheels sent out to Champion.

Here's a thread on it:

The mounting surface grows 1" with the beadlock added.

Just what I've heard. Certainly the least of the problems if they don't fit though. I'll know for sure when I have the 3.0 pulled.

Hehehe those are nice wheels. I love your truck, except for that rear bumper (hahaha) it's clean and the paint is very beatyful.

I posted some pics of your truck in my forum hehe.

Well, I thought SOMEBODY (who shall remain anonymous) was building this really trick hydraulic tube bender was going to fab up a rear bumper and some sliders for the 2nd gen 4Runners. Apparently that SOMEBODY has got really distracted into some V8 engine swap/Marlin dual ultimate crawler something or other. Ooops maybe that was too much info

I'm in doubt... Who'd be "somebody"? Ahahahaha

I'm building my own sliders, will post when finished. I'm a bit distracted into some 4Puter project hehehe.

I'm gonna try to do both. Target for swap AND bumper/sliders is Aug 31. Hopefully sooner...

I need an unrealistic deadline to get my ass in gear.

I was just about to post a link to Twisty's writeups for Cebby but you beat mne to it. Twisty mated the engine up to a manual, Cebby is doing an auto but I'm sure every bit of info helps. It certainly peaks my interest since I also have a 5-speed.

Twisty also posts on www.lextreme.com - this is where I found his info first. I had not seen that 4WD Monthy site before (I just started getting the magazone tho)

He has the Dellows Automotive stuff to mate the manual. Somewhere else in this thread I had posted the other two manuafacturers that make the parts as well.

EDIT: Post # 35 has the info. Only two there - there is one other place also from down under.
