No doubt!!
I ran Rubicon in my 4Runner when the only mod I had was an ARB airlocker. That was with 31" tires and no lift. It's amazing where our trucks can go with just a LITTLE tweaking. As soon Cebby gets his truck back together, I'm dragging him out to Paragon first! I'd also love to do Moab or even meet up with the CO group at the CO4RJ.

Mike,

The body lift is underway. Did you ever find out if your buddy at the race shop can weld up my NWOR header?

BTW your red.. ooops I mean blue Marlin extended rear brake line is in.

I forgot to ask last time I saw him. Actually since we can use the shop to pull it, I can TIG it up at my house if he can't/won't do it. I'm close by...

Those are stainless, right? I'd just need to pick up the right electrode and filler rod. Do you know what gauge those are? I'll get some of the right thickness and practice up... Depending on how much room there is, I might be able to TIG them in place.

Determination is the key. Keep up the hard work.

If you can TIG the header in place, you ARE the man!! Unfortunately, I don't think that's gonna happen. According to NWOR's catalog, the headers are 14 gauge steel with an "Exclusive (PNS 100) Triple nickel and chrome plating system".

OK, so if they are plated, then that means any welding done on them will rust - not to mention the toxic fumes...

So if I bring over my big compressor and we hook up your sand blasting cabinet... remove the plating on the areas to be welded, will that work? I wonder how much it would cost to replate the header. Maybe some high temp header paint will have to suffice.

No need.

In addition to the 4 cams, 32 valves, and 6 bolt mains, it also comes stock with tubular headers.

I'll need to get some more sand or aluminum oxide. I ditched all of mine eons ago (blaster is empty). I was considering taking it down to the raceshop - you wouldn't need to bring your compressor then...

Nice new avatar Have you started on the motor mounts yet? Or is the shop doing that?

The shop is just a container for ME to work in. The 3VZE motor mounts allegedly bolt up.

Nice! Just like the 2001-up 5VZ-FE's! I got a set of those for my '99 motor.

Wahoo! Finally got a little time this evening to start moving some of my crap down to the raceshop.

Here's my new little corner of the world:

I made up these shop lights out of some office furniture uplighting - made 2 setups like this. There are wheels underneath to roll them around.

Here it is in all its glory:

I think I'll replace the starter contacts NOW. I'd rather not have to pull the intake to do it later...

How about that new avatar...

sweet, when you think you're going to drop the engine in? can't wait to see it.

edit: That starter is really odd.

It all hinges on my consulting business. I'm tryng to devote as much as possible to the swap, but last week I billed 85 hours, so not much was happening on the Runner.

My attention is on the crawler setup right now. I'm doing that at home - when I need to get away, down to the shop I go.
