Finally installed the other head and ordered an Aisin timing belt kit which should be here in a few days.

Things are coming together, slowly but smoothly

 

Recieved my water pump, timing belt, and idlers in the mail and got started re-installing the cams.

wanted to share a small bit of information in case it's of use to you:

on my '90 LS400, i had a hose fail on the underside of the PS reservoir. it wasn't even a high pressure hose, but just a little thing. the hose failing allowed the fluid to leak into the alternator which is mounted right below it, and it ruined my alternator twice before i realized what was happening. afterward i was paranoid of the res. being right above the alt.

you mentioned you may customize the reservoir location, so i figured this info may be of interest to you.

thats the kind of scenario i would like to avoid with using a remote res. instead of the buiilt in unit on the LS. Thanks for sharing!!
