1UZ swappin' my 1999 4RUNNER!!!
well the suspension and axles are finally done.. so i went and got another thing to dump money into..
questions are, 5spd or keep my auto? what adapters/trans? and where to get headers and adapters and what not!
here is what its going in.
incase you are wondering whats already done..
i have dual cases with marlins 3.4/2.7 adapter, first case is 23 spline 2.28's second case is 23 spline with 4,7's. rear axle is a gm 14blt with 5.13s and a detroit, front is pass drop kingpin 60 with arb and 5.13's, custom made rear bumper and arb front with hella lights. using arb compressor, allpro front springs with procomp shocks, rear is chev 63's with bilstiens.
for those who dont know my build thread for the runner is on here and ill update that also as i go!
any input is appreciated!!

Subscribed. Definiely use the Lex auto. There are some great write-ups on transmission things on uzswap.com.
What year motor are you using? I plan on doing this someday so it will be fun to watch a 3rd Gen get built.

I'm running my 4runners auto because its the same as the lexus.. the 1uz planitary gears oil pump and bell housing all bolted right to mine. The 4runner trans is adapted to gear driven dual cases using marlins "tacoma" gear driven case adapter. front case was converted to 23 spline and rear case is 23 spline with 4.7s
Anywhoo. Update is that I pulled the 3.4 out and sold it. Made the tranny ready to bolt to the 1uz and cleaned the whole frame up. I had the 1uz sitting in it for fitment and boy do I like the way it looks. I drilled my radiator support off to make it waaaay easier and for one other BIG reason as soon as I get the tacoma done for my customer I'm gonna go crazy on it and get it done.. I'm waaaaay excited!

great looking 4runner man !!
a question on the tranny.. so you just switched the bell, oil pump, planetary gears..... or did you switch the valve body also? why not just the valve body?
im in the middlle of a swap and am using the A343f and wondering if i could just swap the valve body only.. dont know much about trannies but im hopeing i could just do that ,switch the valve body....doi really need to switch over all the guts along with the valve body. everything looks to be the same .
