It's behind the timing cover and timing belt. I just started tearing the motor apart until I found it.

From my decoding my motor is from a 1997 2WD Limited 4Runner with an Automatic.

Why don't my FSM wiring diagrams match? This is driving me crazy. Back to reading wiring diagrams.

GOOD TIMES!

Got the wiring done. I'll post up my notes later tonight or another day.

List of stuff finished:

Heater Hoses - The 3.0 heater hoses work great on the 3.4. This is the hardest most pain in the ass part of the swap (not really but a pain). It's tight back behind the motor.

Throttle Cable - The 3.0 throttle cable works great.

Fuel Line - I used the 3.4 fuel line but I swapped it to the passenger side by unscrewing it from the fuel rail and moving it to the other side, then I just screwed it to the 3.0 hard line on the frame. I RECOMMEND YOU DO THIS BEFORE THE MOTOR IS IN THE TRUCK. It's a pain in the ass to do this after the motor is already in the truck.

Some pictures for you guys.

My laying over motor working on fuel line and heater hoses.

This where you flip the fuel line to the passenger side (this is the line already flipped to the passenger).

This is the fuel line after it's flipped and connected the the 3.0 hard line (look over my drawing skills).

Because of the way the 3.4 fits in 2nd gens they sit higher than they do in the 3rd gens.

A lot of people put a body lift on. I'm planning to put a hood scoop in later on. For now I'll just cut the hood up to make it work.

Toyota changed the plugs to a universal plug in 1998. 1997 and before there are 2 types of plugs, one for manuals and one for automatics.

4 days of no sleep and you get a running truck. I'm having problems with my exhaust and slave cylinder. I can't get the slave in with the 97 crossover.
