Wrong ATF in P/S System - Damage?

Hi all,

I accidental grabbed the wrong bottle of ATF to use in the P/S on my 3.4 conversion. I grabbed the wrong bottle on the shelf and filled it with Mercon V instead of Dextron III as the cap calls for. I only realized this after a few days of driving, and my P/S pump is still whining. I am not sure if it is still working out air bubbles, or if it is due to the wrong product.

I plan to pull the return and plumb it into a bottle and pump out and re fill with Dex III, but I want to know if there is possibly damage to seals etc. in the pump? A google search tells me they are both fully synthetic, and are not mixable, however is this due to the fluid compatibility with friction disks in AT transmissions, or the seals?

Thanks,

Ian

Just pump it out and put the right stuff in there. Won't hurt anything.
