Wiring for 4th Solenoid
#1
It's been awhile since I probed you guys' brains for some info (about a year). I'm still tryin' to put a 3.4 into my 95 4runner. I got the ECU and harness from a 96 T100. I don't work that slow, it just had to go on the back burner for awhile. Anyway, my 4runner says I've got the A340H, and the 95 runner EWD says the ECM controls four solenoids... Pin S1, Pin S2, Pin S3, and Pin S4. I am assuming 1 and 2 are tranny solenoids and S3 as Lockup. Iv'e been scouring the internet for info for a 4th solenoid but didn't find anything until tonight. I found a site from someone named Nathan on his Truck swap (a 93 w/ an A340H). His toyota diagrams show a 4th solenoid controlling the transfer case. The solenoid Logic shows this solenoid only being energized when the 4WD selector handle is in the 4L position. My 96 T100 ECU is not gonna control this, as it only has Pin S1, Pin S2, and Pin SL. Here's the thing, my T100 harness has the wiring to sense a Transfer Neutral switch, which my tranny doesn't have. If I hi-jack the transfer neutral wires and put a toggle switch in the dash, tied to 12v+, using only when I shift to 4L, will it work?
