Well I got it running

Thanks to monch sticky and dntsdad sticky I got my t100 3.4 swaped in my 88 4runner. I was so glad it fired first try auto harness to man. Ecu is not to bad looking at all those ewd's will make your eyes cross. Still have to get exhaust on. My question is did they all have the evap box? my donor was wrecked on that side and it wasn't there it had a vsv on charcoal canister bracket and the back of the intake only have one vacuum hose not figured out with the little filter looking thing on it. I also can't seem to find but two evap wires at harness g/w r/w that hooked to the ones on the evap can. It non-egr also. It runs smooth the way it is though.

Congrats! on the swap. You beat me to it.

I believe the EVAP canister suppose to release the vapor pressure in the fuel tank when it gets hot. It works with the ECU and water temp sensor. The charcoal canister suppose to clean the vapor before it released into the air.

The engine will run fine without that stuff for a while. I'm not sure what will happen if there's a lot of pressure built up in the fuel tank. I guess it can't be too good.

I am not using an EVAP can. I just have the VSVs connected to the harness and tucked away. I pinched off the vent line and and using a vented cap. I have not gotten a CEL yet. Grats on getting it going. Post up some pics.

So it idles great and not missing when I try to give it gas hard it stalls. But if i ease into it it will rev up fine. I think I am going to try a new fuel filter I dont think its getting enough fuel. It seems to get better the hotter the engine temp is. Also when you start it it will die unless you leave the key on for a few seconds before cranking. Like its not getting enough fuel pressure. It will always start fine on second try. Thanks for help guys this forum is great.

Ok, I just got mine running, and I have this same issue. Runs, idles fine, but it bogs badly when you give it gas. If you gently ease into the throttle it will rev. 88 4runner 3.0AT swapped to MT, 3.4 from 95 T100 MT. The W-R wire (switched 12v) is hooked to the B-Y, but not any other W-R. What am I missing here? I haven't hooked up my DLC yet, but I planned on hooking the 12v power to it to this same circuit.
I tied the only other W-R wire (aside from the one in the 3.4 harness that goes to my evap purge solenoid) in to the circuit and it did not fix it. I'll have to look at this again in the AM

My problem was no power at the Maf sensor. I would unplug it and see if it makes a change. If not I would say thats your problem. Makes it run in limp mode.

Yeah I spent my morning on it. I found that I ran the W-R wire from the 3.4 harness to the evap purge vsv, but not back to the W-R IGN circuit. So yeah no power at the MAF, and P0100 code. Runs like a raped ape now.
