Starting issues

After doing my 3.4 swap the 4runner runs and perfect. I would definitely like to say thanks to every post about the swap I think I read everyone a couple if times. The only issue I have know is when I drive the it and stop for a short time (gas, grocery store, etc) it acts like the battery is dead and doesn't want to turn over. It will finally crank after 2-4 tries. No problems when starting in the morning or after a long sit. I have had a few people tell me that the starter could be getting to hot. I am puzzled any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Yes could be whats called heat soak. Very common on GM V8 motors.

If its not a wiring issue, a new starter/solenoid could be in your future.

On wiring, not a whole lot I can think of. Solid, large ground to the motor. Same with the battery connection.

That's man I have a spare starter so I will try it. The ground is a little bigger gauge I will recheck to make sure it is getting a good connection.
