22re to 3.4
Just starting my swap, can someone look over my list and let me know what I am missing thanks.
Going in a 94
Donor is a 96
3.4 is out
178k miles
Have a 90 3.0 fourrunner minus engine, everything else is there
The 22r, trans, and tcase are out also.
I have 3.0 trans and tcase.
Frame engine mounts cut off a 3.0 frame
Engine side of the 3.0 mounts
Stiffeners that go from block to trans from 3.0
Going to make my own crossover by the thread in the stickys
Ordering
timing belt kit
Oil pan and everything else needed
Clutch kit and Flywheel
all new seals and gaskets to fix oil leaks
Kinda lost on:
1. Fuel line hook ups, i read somewhere of people doing a "fuel line mod" cant find any details on that.
2. Power steering lines on the pressure side?
Sure there will be alot more questions.
Is there anything i should do that is easier to do with the engine out? instead of running into a problem once its bolted in?

Basically loosen the big bolt on end of fuel rail and flip it 180*. Search a little harder, this is extemely documented.
2. Power steering lines on the pressure side?
HAVE A LOOK HERE tldr; 3.4 pump, 3.0 line, 3.0 banjo bolt
Sure there will be alot more questions.
Please search, it's all here! Don't forget to use google in addition, there's other tips out there.

I kept my ABS and ended up having to get a custom hose made.
I took both the 3.0L and 3.4L (all the rubber + 2" of hard line) to a hose shop and he cut the 3.4 pump connector and 3.0 ABS actuator connector off and brazed a new hose barb to each connector, gave me a length of hydraulic hose and sent me home to markup where to crimp the fittings. It took a number of trips back and forth to get the various bends and crimps right but in the end it turned out really nice.
I'm not really sure how much of that would apply to a 22RE but its another option.

The top hose is the new, uncrimped hose (3.4L pump connector on the left, 3.0L ABS connector on the right). The middle hose is the 3.0L hose, and the bottom is the 3.4L hose.
Getting the 3.4L fitting to line up correctly with the idle-up valve was a bit of a pain, and I'm pretty sure he eventually brazed a longer length of hard line onto that fitting.
Or take the easy way out and buy a custom hose from ORS.

Also the trick to using the 3.0 line on the 3.4 pump, is also using the banjo bolt from the 3.0. It's a bit shorter in length. See this post: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f160.../#post51849555

Thanks for the help, your thread is really detailed. I got the crossover reworked, I'm going to put the trans in and sit the motor in to tack my mounts into place tonight

Fit alot better than i imagined, going to tack the mounts and pull it back out.
Sitting the motor in the truck really helped me as far as what needed to be moved and why.
The clutch line mounting clip on the firewall hits the 90* in the crossover pipe.
Heater hoses are going to be a tight fit also.
Ive seen in several threads about triming the alternator tensioner because it interfered with the steering shaft. mine seems to clear fine. Ill try to get some more pictures soon

I need a little help with the pickup tube, the one I have doesn't fit to the block its hitting the main cap and it's sitting off to the side. Maybe I have the wrong pickup. Does it need modifying in anyway?
