starting issue - need help

have a fella , brought his 93 to us with an already swaped 3.4L
major issues with the engine one of them no start .

was running for about a year he said , and started to have a knock ..
2 codes - P0330 and P0171 before customer unpluged the ECU

major vac leaks , and #5 cylinder was full of oil , and the knock .. so we suggested re & re of the engine .

re & re is done .. so new 3.4 in there ..

heres the problem I'm having ... no start !!

we have fuel
we have spark , and
we have air ... but engine wont fire ?

anyone EVER had a COR go bad ? i'm thinking this is a wiring issue , just deterating over the last year ,
we swapped the igniter , AFM , plugs as a"quick check" , but i dont know at this point
any help would be appreceated

.

First of all, what a PITA to take on someone else's "custom" wiring job. To my knowledge, a COR is just a relay and you could easily swap it out with a new one. You could always hit it with some ether in the intake to see if it hits. Got a reading on the fuel pressure at the rails?

Sorry to say it but you gotta start at the wiring. Take it apart and and verify that its getting the power and grounds it needs. Will it cough with starting fluid? is there damage to the crank timing gear? Are the cams timed properly? ecu match the rest of the electronics?
