Please help- 3.4 swapped questions!

I have a 89 p/u 4x4 that I bought already swapped to 3.4 from the 3.0. It needs a new clutch put in it, but I have no idea what trans I have. I can’t find an Id tag or numbers anywhere. It’s a 5 spd manual. I was told the 3.4 came out of a 2000 Tacoma. Any ideas on how to identify??

If the 89 was born a 5 speed it should have the original transmission.

I would say to not order a clutch until you pull the one you have. The reason being is there could be either a 3.0 or 3.4 clutch used. It might be the 3.0 since that was the original engine but you don't know for sure.

I went from a 22RE with a W56B to a 3.4 engine, 3.4 flywheel and clutch, 3.0 R150 bellhousing to a R151F transmission and used the slave cylinder, fork and TO bearing from my original 88 W56B.

Better to verify before you order any parts. Good luck with your project.
