oil pan question

Does anyone know if the 3.4 oilpan has to be changed if I have a 4" suspention lift? going with a 2000 taco motor into a 90 5 speed 4runner if it matters. Also will I have to do the dip stick deal if I get away with not changing the oilpan?

Yeah, you still have to do it. I also have a 4" suspension lift, you need to do it to clear the steering relay rod. That is still in the same place, even with a suspension lift.

Yes, you still need to swap it.

Don't forget to swap the oil pickup, too. The whole deal takes probably an hour.

You probably realize this already.. but you can just use the 3.0 oil pan and components on your 3.4. All you really need to buy is the 3.4 dipstick, guide and union.

Toyota Part Numbers:
Dipstick - Toyota 15301-62060
Dipstick Guide - Toyota 11452-62060
Union - Toyota 0405-10033

Of course, you'd have to deal with a 3.0 that now doesn't have an oilpan... but I sold mine that way and the buyer could have cared less as they were repairing a 3.0 and had the oilpan from their motor already.

I re-used my dipstick guide, dipstick tube and oil pan. I didn't need to buy anything.
