I've run 3.4 pilot bearing on all the swaps i've done... no problem.

Your harness is hacked from that? Did you not want to just repin the connectors ? I just did that on an 87 4runner going auto to 5 spd.

3.0L and 3.4L pilot bearings (input shaft bearing) are the same part: 90363‑12002.

And per the following link, that bearing looks to be used on the 22REs, 2RZs, and 3RZs too.

We worked on it till 0030 and got the motor in. It was challenging getting it from inside the house, down the porch stairs and stabilized on the hoist, but we got it!

One of the camshaft caps has gone missing. I have a good looking one from the extra head. If I can't locate the missing cap, why couldn't I just use use extra besides the letter/number combo on it not being the correct one for that spot?

We finished it up on the 19th after work. It fired right up the first time. It seems to run pretty good. The O2's are angry with us because it's just open hearers onto the firewall right now. It's sitting in front of my house until we're able to coordinate transportation to the exhaust shop. I'll get some photos and that diagram up when I can. I took many of the bay to document how I did the evap for future swappers. Fresh pictures never hurt!

There are 2 issues. The cruise light is flashing, so that system will have to get a good looking over when it's out of the shop. Also, the transfer case isn't shifting. It was in neutral, and we had to pop out the shifter and move it with a screwdriver to get it to go into gear. I think it's in 2H for now. It just won't move with the lever installed. I'm thinking we bumped one of the clips out of place somehow. We'll open mine up and compare them when it's all finished to try to sort it out. We didn't drive it much, just down the driveway and parked it on the street.
