Installed Flywheel with Flex Plate Spacers

Currently, I have my 3.4 and 5-Speed installed. I used 3.4 flywheel and clutch set, 3.0 release, yada yada.

Where I am at is that the 3.4 will not start. The starter just clanks. Bench tested, the stater works fine, absolutely no problem.

I realize that when I installed the flywheel, I reused the spacers that were installed with the flex plate, installing them in the same position as they had been installed with the flex plate.

Any mention of an issue aside, will this present an issue? If so, could my my reuse of the spacers be the exact cause of my starter issue?

Thanks in advance for any input.

The engine is not locked up? Can you try turning the engine with the crank bolt and a ratchet to another position and try starting again?

What starter are you using? Not sure if you can use a 3.0 starter or not. I swapped from a 22RE and only had 3.4 starters.

I think I used the spacer as it was stock on the 3.4 flywheel. I used a 3.4 starter but had to drill out one of the mounting holes to mount properly on my 3.0 bell housing.
