Fuel Pump Wiring?

Hey guys, I got the motor to fire last night... Let's just say, straight headers are LOUD!!! WHAT????? LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!! OHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

I had to use a hot jumper wire to my fuel pump to get it to run though. If I crank the key it'll fire and run for about 2-3 seconds. The pump gets power while the engine is cranking over with the starter but once it fires and the key returns to ignition the pump looses power. Now I can easily just wire the pump up to an ignition hot source but I'd rather just wire back the normal way. Any idea which wire that is? The couple wiring diagrams I've found don't show it...

On a side note, I got it fired up with no check engine light and I wired up the OBDii sensor and with my scanner I'm getting no trouble codes either which is a good relief!!!

Oh, it's just a universal pump that I wired into the stock fuel pump power supply for the 3.0 years ago. It's running great off the pump, it's just that I have a jumper hot wire powering it right now instead of off the harness like it was before the swap. That's what I'm hoping to get setup again.

The truck is an '89 manual 2WD.

I hate to sound like an ass cause I'm asking for help but this isn't my first time on a forum. I searched quite a bit and kept finding threads telling people to search for "COR" but after reading 5 threads where the acronym "COR" was never spelled out I finally gave up and posted.

So with that said, thanks for a completely pointless reply along with most of the others that have said to search in the countless other threads I found.

Vital!!!! THANK YOU for finally explaining that... It's amazing how just a quick simple sentence like that makes sense!!!

Thanks,
Khris

Vital is a sharp dude for sure but I think that it is much easier to NOT use the AFM and just use a relay. In about 3-4 minutes, I was able to come up with these four threads of useFUL information including the fact that COR means Circuit Opening Relay and how to wire it to your 3.4 ECM to operate the fuel pump.

Hang out here for another year or so and see how many people ask the same question about the "COR". Demonkid actually made a great thread DEDICATED to the COR (and that thread came up in my search) that leaves NOTHING to the imagination.

Merry Christmas

It really all boils down to this. Again, found by searching after about 3-4 minutes.
