EVAP system n/a
I can't seem to get the ECU to "see" the EVAP system to pass the ref.
I even wired it from the batt to VSV then to 5D. all the vacuum lines hooked up. The 19D (FPU) shows 12V.
What am I doing wrong?
Are you guys able to have ECU see EVAP system say "not ready" or "ok"?

If it says not ready that may just mean that it hasn't tested it yet.
You have to have exact conditions to trigger the monitor. I'm on my phone so I can't post then but it's in my thread. Probably towards the last few pages.
It's a pain cause of the 8 hour cold soak. Takes a lot of time.

I think I have a better idea what happened now....
I don't have the vapor pressure sensor. It's not in the overview wiring one. You have to go to the FSM and look up vapor pressure sensor to see the wiring.

I got the vapor sensor, two vsv hooked up....still not working.
The ECU still say "not available" on the Evap System.
I was getting 2.35V on the pin 2 of the Vapor pressure sensor.
One VSV from the charcoal tank is hooked up to the Evap pin 5 of D. The oher one is on TPC pin. Hooked up the vacuum lines but still no go.
I'm starting to wonder if the ECU wants to see the VSV from the EGR. I suppose i can fake it cause the engine doesn't have EGR.

Hmmm. My wife don't want to move, I'm too old to serve in the military so I can register the truck somewhere else.......
I have to solve this issue to pass smog....
I found out that the ECU I have is for one ton T100. I can not get anyone to verify weather the one ton truck ECU care about the Evap system.
I'm thinking that the ECU should throw a code or two if there's no evap system that it looking for. Mine has no code.

Ya but mine said not ready. It hadn't tested because the conditions were never met in the drive pattern, nor had it failed (because it hadn't ran the test).
The only thing that stated not available was the egr because my ECM didn't use one. It really sounds as though that ECM doesn't need, or is looking for, the evap. Strange but who knows.
Not available means not available. A local smog test only place should be able to tell you for sure.
Do you have the Ewd for that ecm/donor from tis? Does it show a erg?

Post 76 and a few following....maybe some wiring is buried in there, but it mostly looks like vacuum info

you are missing something in the evap system if you are getting this code their are two vsv's under the hood that should be hooked up already if you have the engine wiring harness connected... there is also a evap /vapor canister purge connected to your charcoal canister ... in addition to your vapor pressure sensor mounted on the fuel tank...
it needs to see everything to work correctly... so basically one of the wires is going to be switched power and the other is a signal wire going to your computer harness in the corresponding location per fsm on each of these sensors

Maybe if someone who didn't hook up any evap stuff in anther state can tell me what ECU say in the I/M ready - Evap System entry. I'd think that it would have a P code with it. I don't have any P code. The ECU is happy.

I didn't hook up any EVAP stuff. The harness and VSVs are all connected, but just coiled up, no plumbing hooked up. No codes. I can check with my OBD reader in a little bit if you'd like, but I think it says "not ready" or something like that.

I talked to my local ref again today. He said I definitely have the one ton ECU and it may use the old thermo vacuum switch system which the ECU doesn't care. He said I should not be using the one ton ECU because it has different program.
I'm getting another early 96 T100 4x4 ECU with the part no. 89661-34220-84 .
I hope this will solve my issue.

If you don't mind, can you also disconnect the all the VSV and Vapor pressure sensor and see if it still say the same or throw some codes?...
I'd really appreciate this.

It seems that he should just smog it to what the ecm is and be done with it.
Not trying to be argumentative but my questions, if read in a certain way, make it seem that way as I reread it.
Just looking to learn something here.

Well, he said that it's obvious that I don't have a one ton ( heavy duty) truck. I'm suppose to pass as a light duty truck that need to have the Evap system hooked up.
Apparently, the heavy duty truck doesn't have the same rule as the light duty ones...
I got the ECU from A&G dismantling in OR. He's gonna reimburse me once I verified that the other one he's sending me looks for the evap stuff.

The ref told me when I had the K&N decal issue that I just tell him what I want to call this engine...T100, 4runner, Tacoma...he'll put that in. The ECU doesn't say what it is.
I think in CA, the 4R and Taco might have 2 cats so I didn't want to deal with that....
